Jerry L. White, 64, of Etowah, died Monday, Dec. 5, 2011, at Woods Memorial Hospital. A native of Monroe County, he was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father, Ike White Sr.; and three brothers, Harold, Garland and James White. Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Janis White of Etowah; three children and one spouse, Jay and "Casey" White of North Carolina, Charles White of Tennessee, and Jennifer Evans of North Carolina; his mother, Elsie Allen of Decatur; five brothers and three sisters-in-law, Ike White Jr. of Decatur, Terry and Dale Ann White of Athens, Gary and Sheree White of Monteagle, Ted White of Tellico Plains, and Bob and Kathy White of North Carolina; one sister and brother-in-law, Laura and Tommy Bivens of Georgia; five grandchildren, Christopher, Abby, Jaysea, Michelle and Ryan; a special grandson, Joseph; "My son," Riley; and several aunts and uncles. He was a very special uncle to his nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Amanda. Funeral services will be 8 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Dr. Jimmy McCarter and Mark Hensley officiating. Entombment will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
