Jesse Glenn Knox, 85, of Etowah, TN passed away peacefully at Willow Acres on Wednesday, July 8, 2026.
Glenn was a member of Double Springs Baptist Church. He was born and raised in Niota. He worked construction and for the L& N Railroad. He was a charter and founding member of Claxton Community Volunteer Emergency Services and a lifetime member. He enjoyed amateur radio, bird watching, and spending time with his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harless and Minnie Saffles; loving wife, Jimmie Sue Bishop Knox; brothers and sister, Donnie Knox, Howard Knox, and Debbie Wells.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Rhonda Knox; grandchildren and spouses, Jessica and Jimmy Jacobs, Emily and Tyler Caldwell; great-grandchildren, Tyler and Ella Jacobs, Blane and Aiden Caldwell;
Brother, Edward Saffles; Brothers-in-law and Sisters-in-law Tommy and Linda Bishop; Walter and Melinda Bishop and Betty Wilson; many nieces and nephews; and Special neighbors, Rick and Cindy Clark.
Graveside services at Double Springs Baptist Church Cemetery on Tuesday, July 14 at 2:00 p.m., with Pastor Scott Duckworth officiating.
Pallbearers will be members of the Claxton Fire Department.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Double Springs Cemetery Fund at 111 County Road 776, Athens, TN 37303 or Claxton Community Volunteer Emergency Services at P.O. Box 1024 Athens, TN 37371.
