Jimmie Lu Choat, 82 of Etowah, TN went to be with the Lord Thursday, August 31, 2017 at her residence.
Preceded in death by her infant son, Dan Gregory Choat; and parents, James and Georgia Webb Trotter.
Jimmie Lu was an active member of Goodsprings Baptist Church serving either as pianist or organist for 67 years; Sunday school teacher and children and youth music leader. For 36 years she was a member of Starr Regional Medical Center Pink Ladies "formally Woods Memorial".
Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Dan Choat; 4 sons and daughters-in-law, Perry and Karen Choat of Birmingham, AL, Nick and Michelle Choat of Sarasota, FL, Tracy and Gail Choat of Huntsville, AL, David and Cheri Choat of Etowah; 3 granddaughters, Erin and husband Matt Bonds, Meghan Choat and Payton Choat; 4 grandsons, Colin Choat and wife Mary Kathryn, Drew Choat and wife Josie, Adam Choat, and Cameron Choat; 1 step-grandson, Ian Shaw; 5 great-granddaughters, Emmaleigh Choat, Aubrey Choat, Gracyn Choat, Sophia Bonds and Hannah Bonds;
Funeral Service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Saturday September 2, 2017 in the Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Dr. David Lones officiating. Family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Saturday, prior to the service. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 12:00 p.m., Sunday, September 3rd and proceed to Goodsprings Cemetery for the 1:00 p.m. committal service.
Colin Choat, Drew Choat, Adam Choat, Cameron Choat, Matt Bonds and Ian Shaw will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Goodsprings Baptist Church, P.O. Box 480, Etowah, TN 37331.
