Jimmie Sue Knox, 81, of, Etowah, TN, went to her heavenly home Sunday, January 16, 2022.
Jimmie was a member of Double Springs Baptist Church. She worked at Sears Catalog in Etowah for many years. She also worked at Profitt's and various medical offices. She was a graduate of Etowah High School. Jimmie played high school basketball and was an avid fan of the Lady Vols. She also enjoyed watching the Braves play baseball.
Preceded in death by her parents, William Douglas and Bertie Mae Morrow Bishop; brothers and sisters-in-law, Carlos and Polly Bishop, Spence and Alene Bishop, W.D. and Levina Bishop, John Bishop, Dawson and Dean Bishop; sisters and brothers-in-law, Nina and Fred Cade, Catherine and Carlos Burris, Fred Wilson; mother- and father-in-law, Harless and Minnie Saffles; brothers-in-law and spouses, Donnie and Susie Knox and Howard and Kathleen Knox; sister-in-law, Debbie Wells.
She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Jesse Glenn Knox; son and daughter-in-law, Richard M. and Rhonda Knox; grandchildren and spouses, Jessica and Jimmy Jacobs, Emily and Tyler Caldwell; great-grandchildren, Tyler and Ella Jacobs, Blane and Aiden Caldwell; sister, Betty Wilson; brothers and sisters-in-law, Walter and Melinda Bishop, Tommy and Linda Bishop; brother-in-law, Edward Saffels; many nieces, nephews, and extended family members; special cousin, Frances Watson.
Benjamin Lofland, Tyler Caldwell, Jimmy Jacobs, Ian Burris, Danny Burris and Alan Dyke will serve as pallbearers.
Funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m., Thursday, January 20, 2022 in the chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Rev. Kenneth Elkins officiating
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Thursday prior to the service.
Interment will follow the service in Double Springs Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to Double Springs Cemetery Fund.
