Jimmy Windle "Windy" Harris, Sr., age 85, passed away Saturday, July 23, 2016 at McMinn Memorial Nursing Home. He was a lifelong resident of the Cog Hill Community and a son of the late George Franklin and Mima" Smith" Harris. Windy was a member of Cog Hill Baptist Church and was retired from Eaton Cooperation. He enjoyed camping with his family and friends and in his later years, spent his time sitting on his front porch waving to all his friends as they passed by. He is preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Buelah "Whaley" Harris, his parents, listed above; son, Jimmy W. Harris, Jr.; brothers, Aundis Spencer Harris, Sr., and Willard Harris; half-brothers, Ottis and J.B. Harris; and half-sisters, Grace, Della, Lucille, and Ruby.

He is survived by, special friends, Raymond and MarySue Baker and Viola Underdown; special niece, Lisa Whaley Tipton and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Monday July 25, 2016 in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Rev. Herman Jordan and Rev. Joe Hatcher officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:30 p.m., to 7:00 p.m., Monday at the funeral home prior to the service. Family and friends will assemble at Green Hill Cemetery, Tuesday, July 26, 2016 for the 11:00 a.m., entombment service.
