Jo Ann McNelley, 80, of Etowah, TN passed away Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at Starr Regional Medical Center of Etowah.

She was a daughter of the late Mayo and Reva Augustus Hicks Wilson.

She was a member of Goodsprings Baptist Church. Jo Ann was a loving wife and dedicated to her church.

Preceded in death by her husband, Harold E. McNelley; sisters, Margaret Lowe and Dorothy Martin; brothers, James Dean, Woodrow and Harold Wilson; niece, Teresa Hair; nephews, Wayne Scarboro and Bobby Wilson; great-nephew, Wesley McNelley.

Survivors include her nieces, Reta Matlocke, Pam McKenzie, Carolyn Massengill and Linda Huffman; nephews, Barry Lowe and Randy Wilson; great-nieces and nephews, Gina and Raymond Simpson, Tasha Hicks, Sammie and Amy McNelley, Lydia Simpson, Javan, Brooke and Finnley Simpson; many other great-nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m., Friday, December 8, 2023 in the chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Sammy McNelley, Rev. Scott Standridge and Debbie Walden officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday prior to the service.

Family and friends will assemble Saturday, December 9th at Green Hill Cemetery for the 2:00 p.m. committal service.
