Jo Ann Rudder, 86, passed away Saturday, February 19, 2022, at Westminster Terrace in Louisville, KY.

Born April 8, 1935 in Etowah, TN, the daughter of William Gordon and Lennie M. (Bivens) Rudder, Jo is preceded in death by her parents, and beloved sister, Billie R. Greer.

A 1953 graduate of DuPont Manual High School in Louisville, Jo attended Campbellsville College, then worked for many years in Jacksonville before returning to Etowah in 1988.

A talented artist, Jo created many beautiful paintings and crafts throughout her lifetime.  She also enjoyed singing in the church choirs at Ninth and O Baptist (Louisville), Asbury United Methodist (Jacksonville), and Goodsprings Baptist (Etowah).

She is survived by her nieces and their husbands, Pamela K. and Michael Sweets, Jane E. and Frank Gilbert; as well as six great-nieces and nephews and their children.

Funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, February 26, 2022 in the chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Dr. David Lones officiating.

Family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., Saturday prior to the service.

Interment will follow the service in Goodsprings Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the caregivers at Athens Place, in Athens, TN, and at Rose Anna Hughes Home, Westminster Terrace and Hosparus of Louisville.
