Joan Moates

Joan Moates, 76, of Etowah, TN, passed away Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at UT Medical Center in Knoxville, TN.

A native of New Castle, Indiana, and a resident of Etowah, most of her life. She was a daughter of the late Frank Waldrop and Martha Cockrell Waldrop.

She was member of Wesley Memorial Methodist Church and was proceeded in death by her parents, listed above; one son, Myron Moates and two sisters.

Survivors include her husband, Joe Moates, of Etowah, TN; a niece, Taylor Ackerd of Atlanta, GA and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 8:00 pm Friday, January 28, 2011, in the North Chapel with Rev. Aaron Pierce officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday prior to the service.
