John Barry Barnett, Sr. 72, of Etowah, TNpassed awayFriday, August 15, 2014. He was a son of the late J.D. and Edna Earl Barnett. He graduated Etowah High School and Tennessee Wesleyan College with a B.S. in Business. He worked at Sloan and Webb and was owner of Barnett's Grocery. Preceded in death by his parents; sister, Beverly Barnett; and grandson, Braden Newberry.

Survivors include 1 son and daughter-in-law, John Barry Jr., and Ana Barnett; 1 daughter and son-in-law, Dana and Eric Newberry; 4 grandchildren, Ryan Barnett, Rachel Barnett, Hope Newberry and Abby Newberry.

Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 18,2014 at Green Hill Cemetery with Rev. Dewey Feezell officiating. No formal visitation will be held.
