John Samuel "Papaw Sam" Creasman, 76, of Etowah, TN passed away unexpectedly Saturday, December 12, 2015 at his residence. He served in the U.S. Army and was retired from JM Huber. Sam Creasman was a son of Bascom and Willie Creasman and was a long-time member of Goodsprings Baptist Church. A lot of you will remember seeing him sitting out under his tree or on the front porch waving at everyone that passed by and he will truly be missed by everyone. He is preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Janice Bivens Creasman; his parents, listed above; and a brother, Raymond Creasman.

Survivors include his loving children, daughters and son-in-law, Angie C. Tuten of Niota, TN and Stephanie C. and Mitchell "Bo" Shugart of Riceville, TN; son, Rodney Creasman of Niota, TN; sisters and brothers-in-law, Jean and Jack McDaniel, Vivian Trotter, Flo and George Golden, and Faye and Buddy Parsons; sister-in-law, Lora Mae Creasman; grandchildren, Kaci and Chris Norman, TJ and Katrena Akins, Tyler Tuten, Savannah Tuten, Matthew Shugart, and Christian Creasman; special member of the family, Skye Miu Steppe; great-grandson, Hayden Norman; great-granddaughter, Aubree Simpson; along with several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m., Monday, December 14, 2015 in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Rev. Oran Creasman officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday at the funeral home prior to the service. Family and friends will assemble Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at Goodsprings Cemetery for the 11:00 a.m., committal service. Tyler Tuten, Matthew Shugart, Mitchell Shugart, Chris Norman, Christian Creasman and Buddy Parsons will serve as pallbearers. Hayden Norman will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
