John Charles Patton, 77 of Delano passed away Wednesday, October 17, 2018.

He was a son of the late Tim and Mary Blanche Patton. He was of the Baptist Faith and served in the US Army during the Vietnam War; he was a 1958 graduate of Etowah High School; and retired from Bowater as a Mill Store Supervisor.

Preceded in death by his daughters, Pam West and Lecretia Patton.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Patton; daughter and son-in-law, Rosie and Jackie Blevins; son-in-law, Randall West; grandchildren, Matthew West, Emily and Blake Bishop, Carson Blevins and Branna Starkey; brother and sister-in-law, Tommy and Brenda Patton; sisters and brother-in-law, Peggie and Al Sherlin, Shelia Jump; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, James and Chloey Garren, Bill and Sue Garren, Ray and Kaye Garren, Sarah and Ted Swafford; mother-in-law, Mary Wilma Garren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 20, 2018 in the chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Rev. Herman Curtis Jordan officiating. Interment will follow the service to Delano Cemetery.

Family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, October 19th in the chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home.

Van Garren, Kelsey Swafford, Kile Swafford, Tom Patton, Phillip Patton and Gary Dalton will serve as pallbearers.
