John Herman Studdard, 90, of Delano, died Thursday, March 7, 2013, at Woods Memorial Nursing Home. A native of McMinn County, he was a member of Delano Baptist Church and served in the U.S. Army during World War II, stationed in Germany. A son of the late Arthur and Sadie Studdard, he was preceded in death by one son, John Studdard; one grandson, Greg Studdard; two sisters, Dorothy Calhoun and Mildred Standridge; and one brother, Arthur B. Studdard.Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Anna Mae Stone Studdard of Delano; one daughter and son-in-law, Pat and L.W. Smith of Copperhill; one daughter-in-law, Cindy Studdard of Athens; grandchildren and spouses, Chad and Kristy Smith of Charleston, Kevin and Holly Smith of Copperhill, and Davis Studdard of Athens; great-grandchildren, Drew, Grant, Riley and Talon Smith; one brother and sister-in-law, H.D. and Shelia Studdard of Delano; and special friends and family at Woods Memorial Nursing Home. Funeral services will be 7 p.m. Friday in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Dr. Harold Curtis officiating. Burial will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Green Hill Cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
