Joseph E. Coleman, 79 of Etowah, TN passed away Monday, January 21, 2019. He was a member of Cambria Baptist Church. Joe was also a 50 year member of the Etowah Masonic Lodge #653. He served for the McMinn School Board for 16 years, the National Guard for 5 years, and retired from CSX Railroad after 40 years. He also served in the community as a Dixie Youth baseball and football coach for many years. Joe is preceded in death by his parents, Felix and Elva Coleman; brothers and sister-in-law, Curtis and Myrtle Coleman, J.L. and Marie Coleman, and Carl Coleman; sisters, Ada Massingale and Ella Mae Casteel; and brother-in-law, Joe Gonzales.
Survivors include wife, Edith Coleman; sons and daughters-in-law, Billy Joe and Lisa Coleman and Alan and Felicia Coleman; daughter, Suzanne Coleman; grandchildren, Dylan and Ciarra Coleman, Cayci Coleman and fiancé Blake Powers, Nicole and Elisha Woods, Dustin Samples and girlfriend Taylor Ingram, Ally Coleman, and Jordan Coleman; 5 great grandchildren; stepchildren, Ricky and Cindy Clark and Rhonda and Rawson Perdue; step grandchildren, Mandy Thompson, Courtney and Markus Henry, and Melissa and Anthony Couey; 5 step great grandchildren; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Paul and Nancy Coleman, Arnold Lee and Frances Coleman; sister, Pauline Gonzales; and brother-in-law, Tommy Massingale.
Masonic Service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, January 24, 2019 in the chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Rev. Eddie Rowland officiating . The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday prior to the service. Family and friends will assemble at 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 25, 2019 at the funeral home and proceed to Green Hill Cemetery for the11:00 a.m. committal service.
