A native of Trinidad, Colorado, and resident of Etowah since 1980, he was a son of the late George and Rebecca Gonzales. He was loved by many and was a very special grandpa. He attended Cambria Baptist Church, and was preceded in death by 5 brothers, George Gonzales, Jr., Ben Gonzales, John Gonzales, Joe E. Gonzales and Bobby Gonzales; and 2 sisters, Rebecca Trudillo and Mary Gonzales.

Survivors include his wife, Pauline Coleman Gonzales of Athens; one daughter, Pauletta Gound of Athens; one granddaughter, Summer Underwood of Athens; and three special friends, Jimmy Robinson, Korey Hamilton and his beloved pet, Java.

Funeral service will be held at 8 p.m. Sunday, January 23, 2011 in the South Chapel with the Rev. Eddie Rowland officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday prior to the service.

Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 2 p.m. Monday, January 24th and proceed to Cambria Cemetery for the 3 p.m. committal service. David Brinkley, Robert Brinkley, Matt Brinkley, Aaron Brinkley, Joe Coleman and Jimmy Robinson will serve as pallbearers.
