Obituary

Joyce Mae Davis, 95, of Etowah, died early Sunday morning, September 5, 2020 at Woods Memorial Hospital. A native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, she was a daughter of the late Tom and Marchie Perkins Buckner. She was a member of North Etowah Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Davis; a granddaughter, Monica Frost; sisters, Donnie March Buckner, Edith Watts and Thelma Stepp; and a son-in-law, Jack King. Survivors include two daughters, Jeannie King and Marjorie Hodges, both of Etowah; two sons and daughters-in-law, Bill and Joyce Davis, and Bobby and Mary Jane Davis, all of Etowah; grandchildren and spouses, Lisa Dalton, Kim Haney, Rita and Charles Slack, Cindy and Haskell Swafford, Debbie and Jim Carver, Shannon and Terry Bannon, Jennifer Hodges, Allison and Tony Bailey, Stacy King, Tim and Melinda King and Robbie and Ruth Ann King; 18 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Frances Watson of Etowah; two brothers, Lake Buckner of Knoxville, and Tom Buckner of Broxton, Ga.; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 6th in the South Chapel with Rev. Todd Davis officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday prior to the service. Family and friends will assemble at Green Hill Cemetery at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 7th for the committal service.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made in her memory to either the Gideon Bible program, or to your favorite charity.
