Judith "Judy" Crothers, 83, of Athens, TN passed away Sunday, July 6, 2025.
Judy was a member of Keith Memorial United Methodist Church. She served as a kindergarten teacher for over 30 years at Benton Elementary School. During her early life, she enjoyed spelunking, the exploration of caves. She also spent a lot of her time wood working and contributed to her family's Christmas tree farm. Upon retirement, Judy's skills in stained glass artistry were shown by creating intricate and masterful pieces. In her leisure time, she found enjoyment in reading and working puzzles.
Judy is preceded in death by her parents, J.T. and Bertha Lee Smith; former husband, Ronald Crothers; step-father, Clyde "Pop" Bridges.
Judy is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Ronnie Moses; grandson, Davis Studdard and fiancé, Taylor Carroll; several beloved cousins and friends; her pride and joy furry companion, Lucky; half-sister and spouse, Tracy and Timothy Messer; half-brothers, Michael and Rodney Smith.
The family would like to send a special thank you to the staff at TerraBella Assisted Living for all their compassionate care. Also, a thank you to her caring and loving Ridgeway neighbors.
In lieu of flowers, the family would ask that donations be sent to the charity of your choice.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, July 13, 2025 in the chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home.
Family and friends will assemble at Green Hill Cemetery Monday, July 14, 2025 for the 11:00 a.m. graveside service with the Rev. David Jackson officiating.
