Karen Ann (Nelson) Brown, 89, went to be with her Lord on March 31, 2026. She was a resident at The Neighborhood at Tellico Village in the memory care unit.

She was formerly from Hobe Sound, Florida, having lived in Florida for over 70 years. She worked at the Social Security SSI department for 30 years. Before moving to Tennessee, she was very active in her church and the orchid society. Orchids were her passion.

She was a loving wife to her late husband of 68 years, Billie Ray Brown. Karen had a sometimes-snarky wit about her and loved to joke around with family. She was a wonderful mother to two daughters and grandmother to four and great-grandmother to three and one on the way.

Karen is survived by her daughter, Kelly Brown Parrish and her husband, John Kenneth and daughter, Kimberly Brown Rupp and husband, Mark Robitaille. Her four grandchildren, Alexandra Rupp Johson and husband, Robbie and their daughter, Lakelyn, Matthew Parrish and wife, Christina and their daughters, Carrolyn and Emi, Samantha Parrish Kitchen and husband, AJ and their son Bodie and grandson, Jordan Rupp.

A private family memorial will be held at a later date.
