Karen Wear Taylor, 79, of Etowah, TN passed away unexpectedly Thursday, October 22, 2026.

Karen was born on May 2, 1947, to the late Harley and Frances Wear. She was a proud graduate of Etowah High School, Class of 1965, and continued her education at the University of Tennessee, where she earned an associate degree. She went on to serve as a confidential secretary for Consolidated Freightways in Atlanta, Georgia, dedicating 22 years of service to the company. In 1999, Karen returned to her hometown of Etowah, where she became a valued member of the community, generously giving her time through volunteer service and making a positive impact on those around her.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Marvin Taylor; parents, Harley and Frances Wear; sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Ben Gaston; stepson, Jimmy Taylor.

Karen is survived by her stepdaughters, Shannon Taylor, Jennifer Taylor, and Faye Strauss; step grandchildren, Mollie Taylor, Jasmine Taylor, and Noah Taylor; step great grandchild, Keagan James Taylor; as well as several beloved cousins and friends who will miss her dearly.

In lieu of flowers Karen requested that donations be made to Etowah Food Pantry c/o Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 306 Etowah, TN 37331.

Per Karen's wishes, no formal services will be held.
