A daughter of the late Charlie Franklin and Bertha Ethel Watson, she was born December 8, 1929, and was a life-long resident of McMinn County.
She was a faithful member of North Etowah Baptist Church. She loved her family, her church and her church family. She enjoyed traveling, the Lady Vols, sewing, tending to her flowers and reading. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Glenn F. Melton; her second husband, Kyle Stonesifer; three brothers, Grant, Alton and Ernest Watson; and two sisters, Edna Burris and Rebecca Everett.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Sandra Kaye and Charles Gary Parrott of Etowah; one granddaughter and spouse, Ashley K. Falls and husband David of Cleveland; two great-grandsons, Parker "Brance" Falls and Rylan "Kaid" Falls, both of Cleveland; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Jasper and Freida Watson of Loudon and Armond and Linda Watson of Englewood; three sisters and 1 brother-in-law, Lona Carmichael of Clinton, Geneva Merrell of Englewood, and Vesta and Carl Melton of Riceville; special niece and nurse, Lisa Watson-Shipley; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday, October 23, 2010 in the South Chapel with Dr. Harold Curtis officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday prior to the service. Family and friends will assemble at Green Hill Cemetery at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 24th for the committal service. Gary Parrott, David Falls, Earl Carmichael, Jr., Tommy Carmichael, Dewayne Watson and Jeremy Watson will serve as pallbearers.
