Obituary

Kay Frances Crockett, 74, of Etowah, died Saturday, July 7, 2012, at Asbury Place in Maryville. A native of Dadeville, Ala., she was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church and was a retired teacher at Etowah City School. A graduate of Auburn University, she was a daughter of the late Charles T. Jr. and Mattie Frances Cox. Survivors include her husband, Joseph Thomas Crockett of Etowah; one daughter, Melissa Crockett Grose of Okinawa, Japan; one son and daughter-in-law, Joel David and Jennifer Crockett of Franklin; grandchildren, Elizabeth and Mattie Kay Grose of Okinawa, Japan, and Annabelle Elizabeth Crockett of Franklin; and one brother, Charles T. Cox III of Madisonville. A memorial service will be 7 p.m. Thursday at St. Paul's United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jason Crandall and the Rev. Todd Chancey officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Crazy Horse at Crazy Horse Memorial, 12151 Avenue of the Chiefs, Crazy Horse, SD 57730-8900, or memorial@crazyhorse.org
