Kay "Cissy" Alyse Granita Hicks, 83, of Etowah, TN passed away on Tuesday, December 30, 2025.

Kay was born in Etowah, TN in 1942 to Ulysses and Lucille Melton and proudly spent the entirety of her life in Etowah, TN. She was devoted to her family after retiring from a long career at Proffitts. Kay was a loving mother, daughter, and sister. She was also a cherished grandmother and great grandmother. Kay was a devoted friend to Susan Shelton and her family.

Kay was preceded in death by her parents, Ulysses and Lucille Melton; brother, Ulysses Melton, JR; nephew, Eric Melton.

Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Princess and Doran Arwood and Elizabeth and Steve Sullender; the father of her children, Billy Hicks; grandson, Cody Sullender; granddaughter and spouse, Shalyn and Antonio Guardiola; great-grandson, Antonio Stephen Guardiola; nephew and spouse, Steve and Pam Weber; sister-in-law, Linda Melton.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 3, 2026 in the chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Rev. Eric Peters officiating.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Saturday prior to the service.

Interment will follow the service in Hiwassee Church of God Cemetery in Madisonville, TN.
