Kenneth Howard Snider, 81 of Athens, TN, passed away Tuesday, December 6, 2011, at Woods Memorial Hospital.He was the son of the late Samuel Russell and Cora Roach Snider. A member of East Athens Baptist Church, and retired from Mayfield Dairy Farms after 39 years as an Ice Cream and Milk Supervisor. He loved woodworking and carving. He was preceded in death by one sister, Hazel Ison; and one brother, Charles Edward Snider.Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Bertha Jane Snider, of Athens; four daughters and sons-in-law, Jean and John Tarpley, of Gatlinburg, Anne and Damon Cotter, of Covington, GA, Susan and Mark Evens, of Delano, TN, Barbie and Terry Martin, of Athens, TN; three grandsons and spouses, Johnathan and Brandy Allen, of St. Mary's, GA, Kyle Martin, of Athens, and Clayton Cotter, of Covington; two sisters and brother-in-law, Liz Smith, of Athens, and June and Bob Borum, of Athens; brother and sister-in-law. Robert "Bobby" and Sandra Snider, of Cleveland, TN; four nephews and spouses, Steve and Tracey Riden, of Lenior City, TN, Scott and Jessica Borum, of Mountain City, TN, Pat and Amy Smith, of Etowah, TN, and Phillip and Stacy Smith, of Marietta, Ga.Funeral service will be held 8:00 p.m., Friday, December 9, 2011, in the Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Pete Mullins and Rev. James Staton officiating. Family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., prior to the service. Family and friends will assemble at McMinn Memory Gardens, Saturday, December 10th for the 10:00 a.m., committal service.
