Kimsey "Bo" Witt, 91 of Etowah went to be with the Lord on March 8th 2018 surrounded by his family and compassionate caregivers at Etowah Healthcare Center Nursing Home. Bo was born November 6th 1926 in Athens, TN to Peeler E. Witt and Birdie J. "Hicks" Witt. He attended school in Athens then he attended Wesleyan College where he was a "star" football player. He married his high school sweetheart, whom he adored for 60 years until her death. He owned and operated a small sandwich shop in Athens where they served the best barbeque in town, thanks to his dear friend Burkett Witt's secret recipe. He also owned and operated a portable roller skating rink. Before moving to Michigan where he and his wife, Juanita raised their 4 children. He worked at McClouth Steel Mill until he started his own truck catering business. After selling his business and retiring he and Juanita moved back to TN in 1997. They attended and were members of Etowah First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita; siblings, James, John, Gene, Gladys, Calvin and Allie Witt; Survived by his 4 children and their spouses, Janis and Danny Bierly, Bonita and Bob Morris, Kimsey and Patty Witt and Douglas and Carol Witt; sister, Dorothy Saffell; grandchildren, Lisa Swedren, Stephen Morris, Sara RaJ, Mya Bierly, Stacy Powell, Douglas Witt, Nichole Bates; great-grandchildren, Brittany, Caprice, Madison, Mason, Reagan, Jackson, Dillyn, Jayce; and Many dear friends. Dad you are dearly loved by your kids. We will hold you in the depths of our hearts until we meet again. A graveside service will be held Saturday March 10, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at McMinn Memory Gardens with Layspeaker Wade Shultz officiating. No formal visitation will be held.
