Larry Carpenter, age 57, of Etowah, passed away, Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at his residence. He was a lifetime resident of Etowah, TN. He was a very loving son, a fun and great father and grandfather, and a wonderful brother and friend. Larry was just an all around down to earth great guy who loved his family and will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his father, Red Carpenter.

Survivors include his mother, Helen Carpenter of Etowah, TN; two daughters and sons-in-law, Carrie and Rodney Steffa of Loudon, TN and Cassie and Chris Kile of Decatur, TN; brothers, Gary Carpenter of Etowah, TN, Terry Carpenter of Athens, TN and Ricky Carpenter of Etowah, TN; sister and brother-in-law, Lisa and Tooger Moses of Madisonville, TN; grandchildren Mayleigh, Karleigh, Lonnah, ad Ayden Steffa and Rylee Kile.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 2, 2014 at in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Bryan officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Saturday, February 1, 2014 in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home. Interment will follow the funeral service Sunday at Chestua Baptist Church Cemetery. Travis Carpenter, Rodney Steffa, Chris Kile, Tooger Moses, Colby Cook, and Shawn Freeman will serve as pallbearers.
