Larry J. Green, 62, of Englewood, went to be with Jesus on Tuesday, July 5, 2011, at Parkwest Medical Center. A native and lifelong resident of McMinn County. A son of the late Amos and Edna Green, he was a retired postal worker and had served his county in the United States Marines during Vietnam where he received three purple hearts. He was preceded in death by his parents, listed above and one brother, Keith Green. Survivors include wife, Brenda Cook Green of Englewood; mother of his children, Louise Summey Green of Englewood; son and daughter, Shaun and Lisa Green of Knoxville; daughters and sons-in-law, Michelle and Mike Burns of Niota, Kristy and Aaron Dunn of Cleveland, Stacey and Kent Bledsoe of Etowah and Christy Ray of Englewood; grandchildren, Hannah Burns, Braxton Green, Lexi and soon to be born, Luke Dunn, Jesse Ray, Carley Bledsoe and Roxanne Ray; great-grandchild, Ryder Aderhold; sisters and brothers-in-law, Brenda and Randy Hooie of Pulaski and Patty Trout of Riceville; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jerry and Teresa Green of Etowah and Tony Green of Pulaski and several nieces and nephews.Funeral service will be 8 p.m., Wednesday, July 6, 2011 in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with the Rev. Doug Alexander and Rev. Jeremy MacMurray officiating. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m., prior to the service. Family and friends will assemble at 10 a.m., Thursday, July 7, at Bordwine Funeral Home and proceed to McMinn Memory Gardens for the 11 a.m., committal service. Kent Bledsoe, Jesse Ray, Mark Cook, Mike Burns, Aaron Dunn and Payden Green will serve as pallbearers. Bordwine Funeral Home of Etowah is in charge of arrangements.
