Laura Sue Young Carey, age 80, of Etowah, passed away, Friday, March 22, 2013 at Woods Memorial Hosptial. She was a native of Tellico Plains, a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed spending time quilting and crocheting as well as doing many other arts and crafts. She was a daughter of the late Robert and Betty BradyYoung. She is preceded in death by her parents, listed above; her husband, Thomas Floyd Carey, Jr.; her daughter, Susan Harris;one great-granddaughter, Kaitlyn Winters; one sister; andthree brothers. Survivors include,grandson, MichaelRadford, of Etowah; granddaughter and spouse, Angela and Philip Mullins of Etowah; one brother, Omnie Ray Young of Niota; great-grandchildren, Grace and Noah Radford and Madalyn, Michael, and Mark Mullins; special friends, Jimmy and Mary Hammonds and Betty Mayfield; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held 8:00 p.m.,Monday, March 25, 2013 in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home. The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday prior to the service. Family and friends will assemble at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 26 at the funeral home and proceed to Green Hill Cemetery for the 11:00 a.m., committal service.
