Lester Warren Averett, 78 of Etowah, TN passed away Saturday, August 25, 2018 at his residence. A native of Leslie, GA and a resident of Etowah for the past 50 years. He was the son of the late Hank and Ann Averett.

Les graduated from Union High School in 1957 and University of Georgia Pharmacy School in 1962; a retired pharmacist and former owner of Averett's Gem Drug Store; he served many years on the board of directors at Miracle Lake; he was active in the Gem Players Theater for years.

Preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Buddy and Bobby Averett.

Survivors include his Wife, Mary Averett of Etowah; sons, Todd Averett, Sid and wife, Tammy Averett; granddaughter, Peyton and Collin McCosh; bonus children and spouses, Carrie and Alan Wetzel, Billy and Jennifer Clemmer, Bobby and Carrie Clemmer; bonus grandchildren, Darby Locke, Caleb and Whitney Watson, Mary Ann, Trey, Matthew, Nathan and Zachary Clemmer, Caroline, Drew and Cayla Clemmer; brother, Hansel and Genia Averett; sister, Jude and John Lynch; several nieces and nephews; and Patty Averett, the mother of his children.

The family would like to publicly thank Amedysis Hospice, Nikki Gardner, RN and Family and Faith Homecare for their excellent love and care.

Celebration of Life service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 28, 2018 in the chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Bryan officiating. Family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday prior to the service.
