Lewis Danny Martin, 60, of Englewood, went to be with the Lord early Tuesday morning, February 23, 2010 at Athens Regional Medical Center. A native and lifelong resident of Englewood, he was a son of the late Virgil and Gussie Martin. He was a graduate of McMinn Central High School, and worked as an auto mechanic. He was a member of East Etowah First Church of God, and was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Debbie Rossie Martin Heath; two sisters, Ruth Gay and Louzelle Maxwell; and two brothers, Charlie and Spencer Martin. Survivors include two sons and daughter-in-law, Jeremy and Joni Marie Martin, and Chase Martin, all of Englewood; four grandchildren, Colby Martin, Candice Price, Preston Martin and Kelsey Martin; one brother and sister-in-law, Ross and Fredia Martin of Englewood; two sisters, Hazel Martin of Englewood, and Alma Whitener of Etowah; two special nieces, Gloria Whitener and Nett Hayes; and several other nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral service will be held at 8 p.m. Wednesday, February 24, 2010 in the South Chapel with the Rev. Doyle Lloyd and the Rev. David Watson officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday prior to the service.
Family and friends will assemble at Chestua Methodist Cemetery at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 25, 2010 for the committal service.
