L.H. Sneed, 77, of Etowah, died Sunday morning, January 10, 2010 at his residence. A native of McMinn County and resident of Etowah for the past 40 years, he was a son of the late Mart and Myrtle Thearp Sneed. He was a retired MSgt. (E7) from the US Air Force with 20 years of service. He was preceded in death by a son, Larry Sneed; and a brother, Ray Gene Sneed. Survivors include his wife, Mildred Sneed of Etowah; one daughter, Rhonda Armstrong of Athens; one son, Jeff Sneed of Etowah; one daughter-in-law, Mary Sneed of Etowah; five grandchildren, Brandon Armstrong, Joey Lowe, Mart Sneed, Ciara Sneed and Fallon Sneed; 3 great-grandchildren; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Bob Sneed of Tuscaloosa, Al., Ronnie and Faye Sneed of Athens, and Lester and Margaret Sneed of Florida; one sister, Joyce Malone of Athens; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2010 in the North Chapel with the Rev. Terry Crisp officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday prior to the service.

Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 12 noon Thursday, Jan. 14th and proceed to McMinn Memory Gardens for the 1 p.m. committal service. Bill Cannon, David Cranfield, Joey Lowe, Chris Farmer, Scott Crisp and Allen Yoder will serve as pallbearers.
