Linda H. Larkin, formerly Linda Hitson Hill, 60, of Birmingham, AL, passed away Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at 5:15 a.m. in the presence of family at Brookwood Medical Center in Birmingham, AL after a lengthy illness. She was born May 31, 1949 in Athens, TN, and grew up in Etowah, TN, the daughter of Ruby Davis Cockrell and the late James L. Hitson, both of Etowah, TN. She was the oldest of four siblings. She was a 1967 graduate of McMinn Central High School and attended Tennessee Wesleyan College before marrying John M. Hill of Etowah in May of 1968. In 1996, she married Weldon Larkin of Bay Town, TX and lived there before returning to Birmingham. She spent a life of loving, caring and sharing, forever touching those who knew her and irreplaceably brightening and enriching the lives of all that loved her. She is preceded in death by her father, listed above.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Matt and Karin Hill of Birmingham, AL; two grandsons, Aaron Hill and Nicholas Austin, both of Birmingham, AL; one granddaughter, Camryn Hill of Birmingham, AL; mother and step-father, Ruby and Robert G. Cockrell of Etowah, TN; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Tom and Melissa Cockrell of Athens, TN, John R. and Cindy Cockrell of Englewood, TN and Duane and Heather Cockrell of Birmingham, AL; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, countless friends and her best four legged friend, Abby.

Family and close friends will assemble at Green Hill Cemetery at 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 16, 2010 for a graveside service. Rev. Aaron Pierce will officiate. No formal visitation will be held.
