Linda Ruth Stephens Young, 70, of Etowah, passed away Tuesday morning, June 11, 2013, at Life Care Center of Athens. A native of Monroe County, she resided in Oklahoma for many years, before moving to the Etowah area. She was the daughter of the late Frank Stephens and Louise Gamble Phillips. She was preceded in death by her husband, James "Jim" Young and grandson Ellis Wicker.Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Tena and Mike Ingram of Etowah; son and daughter-in-law, Lee and Cheryl Hanley of Antlers, Oklahoma; step-daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Ron Wicker of Englewood; sister and brother-in-law,, Jody and Dwight Woody of Winder, Georgia; also survived by 6 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; and 1 niece and 2 nephews. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her and loved her. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, June 13,2013, in the South Chapel, of Bordwine Funeral Home with Layspeaker Dwight Woody officiating. Family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m., Thursday, prior to the service. Interment will follow service at Conasauga Cemetery.
