Linda Joyce Thomas, age 71, passed away on Saturday, July 2, 2016 at Athens Starr Medical Center. She was a native and lifelong resident of Etowah, TN. Linda was the daughter of Claude and Alice Thomas of Etowah. She was a member of North Etowah Baptist Church where she served as the librarian for many years. Linda was a graduate of Etowah High School and Cleveland State Community College. She was preceded in death by her father, Claude Thomas.

Survivors include mother, Alice Thomas of Etowah, TN; sister, Scarlett Dender of Summerville, SC; nephews, Rodney Dender and Brian Dender of SC; niece, Angela Schwartz of SC; 4 great-nephews and 2 great-nieces.

Family will assemble at Bordwine Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 6, 2016 and proceed to Etowah Cemetery for the 2:00 p.m. graveside service. Rev. Mark Wade and Dennis Bordwine will officiate. Family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 5, 2016 in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home.
