Lora "Jimmie" Burger, 87, of Etowah, passed away late Saturday night, June 5, 2010 at Life Care Center of Collegedale, Collegedale TN. A native of AL and a resident of Etowah for the past fifty-three years, she was a member of First Baptist Church of Etowah. She was a daughter of the late Jess Andrew and Grace Massengil Howard. She is preceded in death by her parents, listed above; her husband, Dwight M. Burger; a daughter Becky Dickerson; two sisters, Bernice Haney and Fannie Mayfield and one brother, Harold Howard. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Joody and Melvin Moates of Tallahassee, FL; grandchildren and spouses, Angie Moates, Tracy and David Wampler, and Pepper and Dwayne Disspain; great-grandchildren, Chris Williams, David Gee, Christina Gee, Dusty Verdino and Holly Cook; one brother Marion Howard of Cohutta, GA; one sister-in-law, Louise Howard of Bulls Gap, TN and several nieces and nephews. Graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at Green Hill Cemetery with the Dr. Robert J. Burns officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:00 a.m., Tuesday at the cemetery prior to the service.
