Lorraine Mae Gower, 80, of Delano, died Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at Woods Memorial Hospital, Etowah, TN. A native of Royersford, PA and a resident of Polk Co., she was a daughter of the late Ethel Harriett and William E. Flemings Sr., and granddaughter of the late Mary and James Harriett and Clara and Jacobs Flemings. She was a member of Church of Brethren, Royersford, PA, and was educated in that area. She worked for the Department of Revenue of PA for lawyers and contractors in the New Jersey area and retired from Western Union Recording and Transmitting Bureau in Moorestown, NJ in 1989. She was an avid Philadelphia Phillies fan, crossword puzzler and a lover of history. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents, listed above; two brothers, William E. Flemings Jr., and James B. Flemings. Survivors include two daughters, Paula Lorraine Gower of Weimar, TX and Phyllis Lynn Lane of Delano, TN; one sister, Ann Withrow of Columbus, OH; four grandchildren, Daniel Spakosky of Knoxville, TN, Crystal Knox of Niota, TN, Kirsten Bercek of PA and Samantha Capoferri of WV; four great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and cousins in New Jersey, Florida, Tennessee, Pennsylvania Alaska, Montana and Ohio Graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, October 1, 2010 at Delano Cemetery with the Rev. Ed Earl officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Friday prior to the service. Bordwine Funeral Home of Etowah in charge of arrangements.
