Louise M. Galloway, of Etowah, died Tuesday, May 29, 2012, at Woods Memorial Hospital.A native of Hastings, Nebraska, she spent her early childhood in Canton, Georgia, and the remainder of her life in Etowah, Tennessee.She was a member of North Etowah Baptist Church and Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 92. A graduate of Tennessee Wesleyan College with a degree in Elementary Education, she went on to obtain her Masters degree from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, and became a member of the National Dean's List. She was a retired teacher from Etowah City School where she served for many years.She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Galloway, her parents, Wayne an Omi Messer, and her sister, Betty Rodgers.Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Ron and Kay Galloway, of Delano, and Rob and Anne Lynn Galloway, of Canton, Georgia, four grandchildren, Jamie Galloway, of Etowah, Katie Harbin and her husband, Jon, of Wake Forest, North Carolina, and Mason and Dawson Galloway, of Canton, Georgia, and several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, May 31, 2012 at Bordwine Funeral Home with Rev. Oran Creasman officiating.The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Thursday, prior to the service.Family and friends will assemble Friday, June 1, 2012 at Green Hill Cemetery for the 10 a.m., committal service.Honorary Pallbearers will be the Deacons of North Etowah Baptist Church.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o Faye Forgety 120 County Road 447 Athens, Tennessee 37303, or to the American Lung Association in TN,1466 Riverside Drive, Suite D, Chattanooga, TN 37406.
