Loyd Puett, 97, of Etowah, TN, passed away on Monday,  February 24, 2020. He was the owner and operator of Loyd's Body Shop in Etowah for many years and was a member and deacon of Coghill Baptist Church. Loyd was a proud WWII Veteran and received the rank of Seaman First Class in the U.S. Navy.

Preceded in death by his wife, Blanche Puett; son, Doyle Puett; grandson, Cheyenne Armstrong; great-grandson, Dawson Lairmore.

Survivors include sons and daughter-in-laws, Danny and Zelma Puett, Wendell and Karen Puett and Gayle Puett; daughter and son-in-law, Neta and Richard Crutchfield; grandchildren, Scarlet and Michael Poteet, Wendy and Lloyd Jones, Shelly and Joe Lairmore and Mandy Puett; great-grandchildren, Dalten and Claudia Lairmore.

Funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, February 27, 2020 in the chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Hatcher officiating. Family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, February 26, 2020, in the chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home.

Family and friends will assemble at Coghill Cemetery  on Friday, February 28, 2020 for a 1:00 p.m. committal service with military honors.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to the Coghill Cemetery Fund, County Road 810, Etowah, TN, 37331.
