Lura Mae Evans, 84 of Reliance, TN. passed away Monday, January 20, 2025.
Mae was one of the founding members of Calvary Church of God in Greasy Creek, as well as the oldest members. She retired from the Polk County Convenience Centers after 31 years of service at the age of 82.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Hubert N. Evans; parents, Parnick and Ollie Waldrop; sister, Opalene Freeman.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Henrietta Mae and Doug Jones, Regina Kay and Tony Jones; sons and daughters-in-law, Parnick Nath and Robin Evans, Hubert Jeffery and Debbie Evans; grandchildren and spouses, Alisha Evans, Justin and Trista Jones, Christopher and Nicole Peels, Michael Peels, Matthew Evans, Dylan Jones and Sandi Coonley, Kaylynn Evans and Bristal Evans; great-grandchildren, Emmy Jones, Josie Jones and Belle Peels and Noah Peels; beloved fur baby, Brindle "Johnny" Evans; special friend, Ruth Ledford; several nieces and nephews.
A special thank you to Rhonda Goforth Goins for the time and care she spent with Mae.
Funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Friday, January 24, 2025, in the chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Bragg and Rev. Robby Hatcher officiating.
Family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday prior to the service.
Family and friends will assemble at Reliance Cemetery on Saturday, January 25th for the11:00 a.m., committal service.
Cicero Carroll, Christopher Peels, Dylan Jones, Justin Jones, Tom Stevens and Robby Hatcher will serve as pallbearers.
