Luther Ray Gay, 62, of Etowah, died Thursday, May 6, 2010 at his residence from natural causes. A native and lifelong resident of McMinn County, he was a son of the late Ruth Martin Gay. He was a former employee of Collins and Aikman. He was preceded by a nephew, James Austin Gay; and several aunts and uncles. Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Tonia Gay, and Kelli and Kelvin Jamerson of Etowah; one son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Eva Gay of Etowah; his father, James Luther Gay of Etowah; one brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Jana Gay of Etowah; three grandchildren, Kayla Phillips, Andrew Gay and Olivia Gay; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 8, 2010 at Love Cemetery with Pastor Scott Cardin officiating. There will be no formal visitation held.
