Luther C. McDonald, age 95 of Etowah, TN, passed away Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at his residence surrounded by his family.

He was the son of the late John and Gertrude "Dockery" McDonald. Luther was the oldest member of Cane Creek Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Larkin McDonald; sister, Jeanette McDonald; his first wife, Odean; step-son, Haskell Shadden; and two great grandchildren.

He was a lifelong resident of McMinn County; Luther retired from the Tennessee Department of Transportation.

Survivors include wife, Peggy McDonald; two step-sons and daughters-in-law, Virgil and Wanda Shadden and Sam and Lois Shadden; step-daughter-in-law, Henrietta Shadden; step-daughter, Judy Waddle; 9 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.

Funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m., Friday, March 30, 2018 in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Rev. Kenny Waldrop officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday prior to the service. Family and friends will assemble at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 31, 2018 at the funeral home and proceed to Ebenezar Cemetery for the 11:00 a.m. committal service.
