Mandy Ruth Cox, 87, of Etowah, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 15, 2012, at Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville. A member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Benton, she was a daughter of the late Floyd and Annie Larmon and was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Gregory Cox; and two great-grandchildren, Brandon and Jalyn Hood. She was a loving wife and a loving mother of six children and 14 grandchildren. She was loved and respected by all who knew her and will be missed greatly. Survivors include four daughters and three sons-in-law, Sue and Bob Stewart of Athens, Billie Parker of Benton, and Jackie and Frank "Punk" McClary and Melinda and Raymond Land, all of Etowah; two sons and daughters-in-law, Johnny and Pam Cox of Sweetwater, and Jerry and Anne Cox of Etowah; and several great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 8 p.m. Wednesday in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with the Rev. Don Whitehead and Minister Louis Rouse officiating. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Thursday, and will proceed to McMinn Memory Gardens for the 11 a.m. burial. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Greg Hood, Doug Parker, Wes Johnson, Tim Cox, Michael Hood, Jason Cox, John Cox and Steve Blair. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
