Manual "Doc" McCaslin, 81, of Englewood, died Monday, Oct. 15, 2012, at Etowah Health Care Center. He was a retired brick mason and was a veteran of the Korean War. A son of the late James and Leta McCaslin, he was preceded in death by his first wife of 33 years, Martha Doris McCaslin; his second wife of 18 years, Carmen McCaslin; two sisters, Cleta Coleman and Margaret Casteel; and one brother, Virgil McCaslin. Survivors include four children, Jerry McCaslin, Terry Bowers, Janet Brooks and Janice McCullough; grandchildren, Logan and Zack Brooks, Jessie Bowers, Miranda Stiles, Tiffany Bowers, Josh Bowers, Zach Hughes, Justin Adams and Adam McCaslin; eight great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Otis McCaslin of New Mexico, Robert McCaslin of Etowah, and Charles McCaslin of Adairsville, Ga. Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m. Monday at VA National Cemetery in Chattanooga with military honors. Mitchell Reaves will officiate.
