Marcia Anne "Whitehead" Studdard, 70, of Athens, TN, passed away on January 17, 2017, at Starr Regional Medical Center in Athens, TN.

Marcia was born in Long Beach, CA, on June 14, 1946, daughter of the late Tommie C. Whitehead and Eunice Monfort Whitehead. She was an honors graduate of Cambell High School, Fairburn, GA, and studied journalism at Georgia State University. She had an extensive career in journalism, sales, and service. Marcia was instrumental in many of her husband's WWII Destroyer Escort ship reunions, did extensive research in genealogy, and was an avid reader.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur "B" Studdard; her sister, Pamela Sharp.

Marcia is survived by her brother, Thomas Whitehead; sister, Patricia Underwood; daughters and sons-in-law, Melissa and James Allen, Teresa and Howard Mayberry; son and daughter-in-law, James and Kristie Ficklen; five grandsons and one great-grandson.

Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 20, 2017 at Dennis Cemetery in the Idlewild community with Pastor Larry Sorah officiating. No formal visitation will be held.
