Margaret Leoda Cowart of Etowah went home to be with our Lord on September 4, 2013. A lifelong resident of McMinn County, she joins in heaven, her husband, Bobby Cowart; parents, Newt and Vesta Casteel; siblings, Melzora Whitener, Sally Whitener, Frances Brown, John Casteel, Paul Casteel and Hoyt Casteel; one granddaughter, Keshia Reid and one great-grandson, Jaylen Reid. Survivors include, one brother, James Casteel of Louisville, KY; her children and their spouses, Kathy and John Parker of Etowah, Maxine Jenkins and Jimmy Shelton of Delano, Ricky and Billie Cowart of Englewood, Lisa and Larry Price of Etowah; grandchildren, Brandy and Nathan Land of Charleston, TN, Travis and Michele Moses of Etowah, Drew Reid and Chasity Beasley of Englewood, Dustin Cowart of Englewood, Heather and Joel Dillard of Etowah; one special sister-in-law, Geneva Cowart; a special niece, Laura Huggins of Englewood; 11 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors. Margaret had a wonderful love of life and laughter, and was much loved by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be greatly missed. Graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 7, 2013 in Etowah Cemetery. No formal visitation will be held.
