It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Margaret Pickett, who departed this life on January 22, 2026, at her residence. Born on June 18, 1948, in McCaysville, Georgia, Margaret lived a life filled with love and dedication to her family. She thrived when she was able to help and take care of others.
Margaret was the daughter of the late George and Irene Bearfield, and she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Darrell Pickett, and her sister, Carol Harris. Her legacy continues through her loving family, including her devoted daughter, Ellen McClary, and her son and daughter-in-law, Darin and Starlit Pickett. She found joy in her grandchildren and spouses, Heath McClary (Judith), Brittany Ingle (Richmon), Xander McClary, Jessica Johnson (Tony), along with great-grandchildren Frankie McClary, Autumn Ingle, and Reagan Ingle. She also leaves behind several siblings, nieces, and nephews, who will carry her memory close to their hearts.
Margaret's life was marked by her deep love for her children and grandchildren, a bond that formed the foundation of her existence. She was a nurturing presence in their lives, always ready to lend a helping hand or offer wise words of advice. Her family will forever remember her laughter, kindness, and unwavering support.
A graveside service to honor Margaret will be held on January 24, 2026, at Green Hill Cemetery in Etowah, TN. The service will begin at 12:00 PM, with Pastor Scott Cardin officiating.
Margaret Pickett will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her spirit, her love, and her unwavering strength will continue to inspire those left behind.
