Marie Ross Malone, 97 of Athens, TN passed away Saturday, April 30, 2016, at Brookdale Senior Living. She was a daughter of the late Everett Ross and Rosa Davis and a member of Goodsprings Baptist Church.

Preceded in death by her husband, Ray Malone; parents; brothers, Hugh Ross and Wayne Ross.

Marie was a retired postmaster from Rockford, TN post office. She loved to quilt, basket weave, loved to work in her flowers, loved to read, was church librarian for many years, and loved her family.

Survivors include her brothers and sister-in-law, Charles and Edna Ross of Etowah, TN; sisters and brother-in-law, Edna Davis of Etowah, TN, Genevie Reed of Rockford, TN, Phyllis Bates Leslie and Andy Leslie of Etowah, TN; sister-in-law, Bess Ross of Chattanooga, TN; 14 nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Monday, May 2, 2016 in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with Doyle McNabb and Rev. Bob Thomas officiating. Family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Monday, prior to the service. Family and friends will assemble at Goodsprings Cemetery, Tuesday, May 3, 2016 for the 11:00 a.m. committal service.
