Mark Dockery, 88, of Englewood, TN passed away Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at Starr Regional Medical Center of Athens. He was born December 24, 1925 to the late Samuel and Mae Dockery. He was member of Zion Hill Baptist Church where he served as Deacon and Sunday School Teacher, and a member of the Manila Masonic Lodge # 633 in Englewood, TN. Mark was also a member of the Iron Worker Local No. 704 Chattanooga as a Journeyman Ironworker. He was a Veteran of the US Army, having served in WWII in the 101st Airborne Division as 1st Class Heavy Mortar Crewman in France and Germany. He received the American Service Theater Medal, EAME Service Medal with 1 Bronze Service Star, Good Conduct Medal and a WWII Victory Medal. He is preceded in death by his son, Terry Dockery; and parents, listed above.
Survivors include wife, Jean M. Dockery of Englewood; son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Peggy Dockery of Englewood; daughter-in-law, Becky Tallent; granddaughters and spouses, Michelle and Dennis Eller, and Deanna and Chris Harmon; grandsons, Mark Dockery and Kevin Dockery; and great-grandchildren, Logan and Lucas Eller and Jordan and Jaliyah Miller.
Masonic service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 25, 2014 in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home, the funeral service will follow with Mark Hensley officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, October 24, 2014 at the funeral home. Interment will follow the funeral at McMinn Memory Gardens with military honors. Larry Dockery, Mark Dockery, Kevin Dockery, Dennis Eller, Robert Mills and Jordan Miller will serve as pallbearers. Logan Eller and Lucas Eller will serve as honorary pallbearers.
