Martha Grace Burger Gowin, 75, of Englewood, passed away surrounded by family on Tuesday, August 18, 2015, at her residence.
She was a native of McMinn County and a member of Englewood Christian Church.
Martha was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Mary Burger; her sisters Josie Burger and Carine McConkey; her brothers Arland, Voyd B., and Lamuel Burger; her son Mike Gowin; and grandsons Noah and Jacob Gowin.

Martha is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Charles Allen Gowin, whom she married August 22, 1955; Daughters and sons-in-law, Patty and Larry Shelton of Knoxville, TN, Nanette and Ronnie Moses of Englewood, TN; Son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Pam Gowin of Cleveland, TN; Brother and sister-in-law, Earl and Arlene Burger of Cleveland, TN; Sister and brother-in-law, Catherine and Sherman Casteel of Madisonville, TN; Grandchildren Erin Hottinger and husband Terry, Seth Moses, Kristin and Megan Gowin, Kati Hurst and husband Kenneth, Alex Martin, Kendra Swaggerty and Brooke Shelton; Great-grandsons Jaxon Hottinger, Foster Hurst and Landon Swaggerty; several nieces and nephews.

Family would like to thank all of the kindnesses of Martha's neighbors, friends and church family who have been there for her during her illness.
Funeral service will be held at 6:30 p.m., Friday, August 21, 2015 in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home. Family will receive friends from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m., Friday prior to the service. Family and friends will assemble at Sunrise Cemetery Saturday, August 22, 2015 for the 10:00 a.m., committal service.

Grandchildren and nephews will serve as pallbearers.
