Mary Catherine "Cathy" Leamon, 63, of Delano, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012, at her home with her husband, Robert, and family by her side. She passed away after a five-year battle with brain cancer. A native of McMinn County and a lifelong resident of Delano, she was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. Her hobbies included camping, traveling and meeting new people. A daughter of Janie Newman and the late Alfred Newman, she was preceded in death by her father; one brother, Richard Douglas Newman; and her father-in-law, Robert Lee Leamon. Survivors include her husband, Robert Daniel Leamon Sr. of Delano; two daughters and sons-in-law, Angie and James Breeden of Cleveland, and Cheryl and Jason Perry of Soddy Daisy; one son, Robert Daniel Leamon Jr.; one daughter-in-law, Callie Mitteis; five grandchildren, Tyler Morgan, Dylan Perry, Taylor Breeden, Jase Perry and Anakin Leamon; one brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Karen Newman; two sisters-in-law, Cathy Newman Queen and Rebecca Steele; her mother-in-law, Lucille Leamon Humbert; two nephews, Josh and Kevin Newman; three nieces, Wendy, Ashley, and Brittney Childers; and several special cousins. Funeral services will be 7:30 p.m. Friday in the South Chapel of Bordwine Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Ross officiating. Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday in the Calhoun Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Friendship Baptist Church Youth Group, 290 Friendship Lane, Delano, TN 37325; or the Delano Baptist Church Youth Group, P.O. Box 25, Delano, TN 37325.
