Mary Albarelli Durant Morgan, age 95, of Etowah, passed away Tuesday April 19, 2011 at Life Care Center of Athens. She was a native of Burlington, VT and a resident of Etowah since 1953. She was the daughter of the late Giuseppe "Joseph" Samuel and Maria Patrille Albarelli and step mother Maria Perotta Albarelli. She attended First Baptist Church of Etowah. She came to Etowah in 1953 with her husband, Bill Durant for the purpose of constructing and managing Blocksom and Company. She worked in Etowah as a nurse for over 30 years. After her retirement, she served in the Woods Auxiliary as a Pink Lady until 2007. She also served in the community in many other ways including teaching Red Cross swimming and as a Girl Scout leader.
She was preceded in death by her husbands: William Harold Durant and Dewey Morgan, and a daughter: Carol Ann Tullock. Survivors include 4 grandsons and spouses: Dr. Bill Tullock, Michael and Susan Tullock, Larry and Beth Tullock, and Durant Tullock.7 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandaughter. Special friends Jim and Joan Kirkland, Sandra Shaw, Judy Williams, and Tammy Kincaid.
Graveside funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Friday April 22, 2011 at Green Hill Cemetery withDr. John E.Pennington Jr. officiating. There will be no formal visitation. Memorial contributionsmay be madeto local food pantries.
