Mattie Belle Daugherty, 85, of Etowah, died Saturday, September 4, 2010 at her residence. A native of Etowah, she was a daughter of the late Benjamin and Elizabeth Arrc Rucker. She was of the Christian faith, and was preceded in death by her husband, Burkett Daugherty; one granddaughter, Angela Smith; one sister, Pauline Ervin; and five brothers, William, Woodrow, Paul, Roy and Duke Rucker. Survivors include one daughter, Karen Smith of Etowah; one granddaughter, Cindy Dailey of Etowah; one grandson, Jason Smith of Etowah; one great-grandson, Connor Dailey, of Etowah; and several sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Family and friends will assemble at Conasauga Cemetery at 11 a.m., Monday, Sept. 6th for graveside service with Rev. Doyle Lloyd officiating. There will be no visitation held.
